Style Story: MeetUp Couture

By now, hopefully...you've caught up on the amazing time the laydeez n I had on the previous post: My First Sip Trip Meetup-if not, gawn n click to catch up. The theme of the shindig was "What Would Kisha Wear" becuz I've shared enuff Sip Trip Couture's to have a good gauge on my style. I wanted everyone to come in freely n take on their own rendition of what they'd wear to a coffee date.

It's been SWELTERING hot in the DMV!! The mornings lead the way of a solid 80 degrees n go UP from there. I knew I wanted to stay cool yet mindful I didn't know what everyone else would wear. I wanted to be the blank slate if u will n wear a solid light color to not clash with the works of art attending. When coordinating a theme as the host, my vision is to compliment the group n not overshadow. Gotta find the balance!

Like much of my Summer Couture's, I love a good "one and done"and anything LOOSE! So this maxi shirt dress from Shop Iccon went with the flow **pun intended** and unfortunately-sold out. I got it early last year, also in black and if ever you come across a similar style PLEASE grab it. Perfect transition piece and I can wear it all year round with or without layers.

I recently shared via IG: BallsofBeautyBlog and Black Girls in Nordstrom accounts, my #NSALE grabs! I am waiting on the arrival of the rest to post my haul BUT..these Nike Air Max's were surprise grabs for me becuz I'm not a sneaker gal. I fell in love with the color combo n the idea I could wear them more often than not. Once I tried them on...I said OH YEA!!! They feel like clouds.

Unfortunately, these Nike Air Max 90 ($120) sold out during early access of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale :(

Nsale Hack: Add them to your wishlist anyways becuz this is the time where returns/exchanges occur n if ur lucky u can snag ur size. ALSO, try ur luck by going IN store to see what's in stock n have em "check the back" ;D

I've been into watches lately...stepping away from the apple watch n going beyond just changing the straps has been fun. There's no backstory as to why I chose this to go with the outfit. It just felt right. Often times, when I'm getting dressed; the accessories come together naturally. Surprisingly (or not, lol) this is a man's watch so clearly I don't discriminate. Even in the little details, I like how the green in the watch was a wink to the colors of the shoes. I also had a matching green coin purse (not pictured) as well.

P.S. My Oversized Cat Eye Sunglasses were a hit. The black ones sold out but there's a leopard print (normally my default grab) n Beige Brown pair left. Snatch them here.

In conclusion, the Style Story I wanted to tell for the Sip Trip was a fresh canvas (white) to allow my laydeez to paint me with their presence. The watch was more of the POP than my shoes becuz the dress is so maxi, u get a peek of what's on my feet. There's a way of dressing lowkey but ur energy will ALWAYS bring it to life. I am NOT a lover of white becuz it makes me too self-conscious throughout the day BUT I wore it to signify stepping out my own box n the open-ness of being vulnerable. How it all tied together served its purpose :)
