Surprisingly, Richmond (VA) has a lot of cute gems that I do plan on exploring more of when hibernation season is over. As a DMV-er at heart-we didn't really venture too far north n definitely not south so now that I have no boundaries; I wanna explore tiny town's and spots away from the city crowds. Home to one of Edgar Allen Poe Museums; Shockoe Bottom is a downtown riverside area in Richmond. I was on my way home after spending time at my parents n wanted to grab coffee to accompany me home. Shockoe has its fair share of charming cafés, but WHISK stands out with its French-inspired pastries, hand-crafted drinks, and fresh bites that have kept guests coming back since 2015. During this Sip Trip, I stopped by this cozy spot to indulge in a little café magic—because nothing says “treat yourself” quite like a macaroon and a perfectly brewed latte. So, did WHISK whisk me away to a Parisian dream? Keep reading to find out!

I picked this place off the beaten path and was impressed to have been greeted with the Nina Simone mural adorning the building. Not really sure how I ended up here, I just randomly searched cafe's and often times, I go with whoever doesn't open after 0900a, lol. I also seen this spot serves macaroons so I was SOLD!!

I got the ICED Honey Lavendar drink and Honey Latte Macaroon. DELISH!!! I didn't get to stay long and fully enjoy the ambiance but it's definitely gonna get a round 2 so I can gallavant in the neighborhood. The staff was friendly, the cafe was clean and service was GREAT!!

These...MEGA-roons were so good. Yes, the sizing is like a moon pie, lol but the taste was just as grand. I couldn't eat a full one in one sitting. I had half before hitting the road and the other half later. Very fulfilling and ONE will satisfy the buds. The Whisk was a great experience and I can't wait to see what they have in store as they switch out to seasonal flavors and I'd more than likely call ahead for the macaroon selections. Don't mind me, they also offer other pastries like chocolate "cwah-sonts" (croissants), cake and breakfast sandwiches. The coffee isn't overpowered with syrup so you can fully appreciate the beans but be careful which flavor you'd choose n go towards one that would be less bitter. I'd highly recommend this spot.
