By now, I've bombarded you with the excitement I've had leading up to Nordstrom Anniversary Sale with early access as an Ambassador and been on the ride with me as I've shared my wishlist along with tips n tricks to maximize the shopping experience. I am in Nordies bout every weekend without a sale, lol so my pickup visits didn't really change BUT I've shared my haul in the previous post n now I wanna dedicate this post...for after actions!
af·ter-ac·tion report. : a detailed critical summary or analysis of a past event (such as a military action) made for the purposes of re-assessing decisions and considering possible alternatives for future reference.
Dear Nordstrom,
I've been a participating Nsale Shopper since 2010. I appreciate the excellence in customer service I experience with EVERY visit and have built many relationships amongst the associates as a familiar face. I am surprisingly writing this to express disappointment to this years highly anticipated anniversary sale.
Due to a schedule conflict, I was unable to attend the private party for Icons and Ambassadors, nonetheless, I did visit the day of early access and was kinda confused as to where the deals were located until I noticed the yellow signs. I appreciated in the past how the exclusive sales were in the same area. The newest format made it seem like a treasure hunt and I became overwhelmed moving from here to there trying to find my wishlist.
Because I was unable to attend the event before the store opened, I would love to see an option for evening shoppers to exclusively enjoy the sale and a fashion show of different body types for the catalog to come to life. I can even go as far as giving the idea to craft a section of live models in place of mannequins around the store to showcase the NsaleFashions.
Alot of the Nsale is a trend alert for the upcoming Fall Season and guides on styling new threads would be good for those looking for makeovers and closet updates. There are many stylists throughout the store who could assist because a lot of times, customers need visuals and clothes look better on vs the hanger. This concept could maximize the sales and gain new customers especially those attending with cardholders.
Also, how is it determined which brand and items from the sales are sent to various stores? I'd love to learn the behind the scenes of the process because as someone who prefers in store visits, it would be a good opportunity to introduce new brands not regularly offered in the store and it can solely just be a limited time or pop-up style during the duration of the Nsale. It's really just allowing access to items vs blindly ordering online.
Although I recognize the request may sound excessive, this can attest to the importance of models in various sizes even if ALL sizes aren't available on the racks. For my finale action report...and I will actually send this to my local Nordstrom...
I've only in recent years after all this time discovered the hidden gem inside Nordstrom known as the Market Cafe (Thanks Eb) and I'm happy to report, I've NEVER had a bad meal from lamb chops to pizza n my FRIDAY FAVE: She Crab Soup :P
Whether shopping or picking up, this has been a great place for solitude to slow down n grab a bite. The staff gives exceptional service and I look forward to the menu changes and highlights outside of the normal menu.
My favorite part of dining beyond the complimentary bread (I force myself to skip) and the finale of dinner mints to cap the meal would be interacting with the servers who keep the kitchen going and shoppers served. They NEED to be highlighted for great service and if they so feel comfortable, sharing a blurb of WHO they are. This section is soooo underrated n should be recognized-the salads are delish!!
WELP!! That's the end of my suggestion (not rant) because for someone who greatly invests in Nordstrom beyond buying clothes, I'd like for us to know our voices can be heard and we the people-real people; should have our feedback n opinions accounted for with the intention of love and growth. Many people aren't aware of the different brands offered inside my 2nd home and it's not as expensive as people think. Yes, they do have designer sections but what I love about my holy grail department store is the ability to shop high n low within the budget.
Listen, I come from a long ancestory of shoppers in my moms, lol. I grew up in Woodies honey...ask your grandma or google "Woodward & Lothrop" (DC Headquarters on you heaux-which might I add is a historical landmark) who competed with Garfinkel's mmm k. I've survived the era of Hecht's which became Macy's and does anyone remember Loehmann's??? Trust me when it comes to the Art of Shopping with deals n thrills, I'd easily have a PhD in experience alone.
Other than that..I had a great time during the Nsale and used up the majority of my Nordy Notes and Gift cards collected from last holiday season. Oh Wait...WHYYYYY was there NOT a 10 point day during the celebration of the sale O_o Did I miss something? I had to use one of my double points day **eyeroll** but it would've been a grand idea for there to be a brief time period-maybe the access day-to induldge AND accummulate a note or two (so I can use Nov/Dec)...told yall I'm strategic to extend a dollar!!
Anyhoo...what do yall think? Where can Nordies improve during sale time? Let me know below so when I attend the next board meeting, I can represent...for the people :D
See ya next year!!
