As this month comes to a close, I'd like to kick off this year and get in the blogging habit of recaps!! These last 31 days have been...**insert however u wanna describe your month** and yes, we are headed into February with fresh eyes and somewhat of an awakening of sorts. Just me? Oh. I won't keep you long...let's get to it.
I've been mentioning this within the last few months but February I'm gonna REALLY lean into sharing my style evolving to a toned down n mature representation. The struggle I'm having with sharing it out loud is due to fully stepping into it without losing my full self. Trying to find this balance of leaning into this new era while not all the way letting go becuz I still love color n quirky bags along with letting my outfits reflect my inner self. I'm taking my time with it so bear with me!
Exhibit A your honor, lol. I am NOT letting this outfit go! I've only worn it during the last Nordies Anniversary Sale n it just so happen to have me looking like a mascot-haha but I felt so HAPPY as cliche as it looks wearing this. I'm cheesing just thinking of wearing it again n that my friends is what makes a statement piece successful.
This momth brought some creative juices to flow. During a recent trip down south to lay family to rest, chatting with my cuzzo's my monthly diary was born: Nail Files to showcase my designs and the inspo behind my color choices.
Dear Nike: Cut The Check (that actually might need to be a series too), Imma need yall to send these n grab the attention of Nike to let them know...ya girl outchea taking elevated casual to great heights out here cuz the way I'm turning sporty into spor-tay needs to be celebrated with a cameo in a commercial or ambassador-ness. I'm always open to coming out of retirement for modeling-just sayin! You will see me in these Air Max Sandals n there's no doubt I'll sell u on them by how I hook them up. Sale is what they on too so grab em before it's too late-Spring will be here shortly!

Last week, I did a birthday countdown which led to turning 44 years old. Yes, I'm in my 40's no matter how young yall wanna flatter me with, lol. I'm totally fine with this aging process n a few gray strands won't deter the beauty of life this brings. There's changes in the body that have me in awe. I've also come to the conclusion I gotta stop straining my eyes n recognize all these carrots I ate as a kid have worn off :7 I've lived 3 more years than my mom at this point n take none of these years God allows me to live for granted. I'm lowkey for my birthday in typical Aquarian fashion: Welcome to Forty Force!! Speaking of birthday's...doesn't it seem like erybody n they mama born this month, lol...
Happy Birthday to my Dad :D I know what your thinkin **eyeroll** cuz yall be quick to tell me "he looks so young"..."yo daddy look good" O_o well that's cuz he was a teen dad got started early so I'm bout right behind him on the "back nine" (golf reference) as he says, lol.
That's pretty much my January round up! To be honest, I've been diving more into my creative space n enjoying quiet mornings with a hug of warm coffee in my cup to avoid all the hoopla of anything related to politics n divisive rhetoric in the media these days. It's hard to have opinions and even harder to dig for facts. We lack the attention span to read beyond clickbaits n messy captions and pass it all around without fact checkin. I'm sitting back observing fake prophets, recessions, worry, anxiety and spiritual warfare amongst the masses and I just wanna stay surrounded in love n strengthen my relationship with God. I'm more spiritual than I'll ever say out loud becuz for one...it's nobody's business and two I don't have to be boisterous to prove my love of God when u should see it n feel it when u encounter me. I'm in a state of rest these days. Speaking less n living more-I don't want no smoke n ain't makin no noise, lol.
Yup! This has been an eventful January and looking forward to what February shall bring.
