Now yall KNOW I do not follow trends but for the title purposes...here you are! The moment I've been waiting for **cue evil grin** the season of Summer to be done and crispier temps to shutter in. I make no qualms nor quips about my love for any season outside of Summer and around August, I tend to be on the lookout for what's gonna be IN for the upcoming season.
Here are my Top 5 observations for Fall trends:
Red is ALWAYS in but it's by default THE trend for Fall. You will see Candy Apple's to Burgundy or if your feeling seductress-y...Aubergine which is a dark purple eggplant color. I don't typically walk on that dark side n stick to my oxbloods.
Nonetheless...RED is Fall's kickoff and I am actually itching to transform my blonde into an inspiration from Ms. Jackson-I Get So Lonely vid.
Have u gone PLAID? I've never been a huge fan enuff to invest in multiple pieces and the ones I have had..yall prolly have never seen cuz it's just not a style I reach for. However, that may change this year. As I was scrolling n minding my business; this cape caught my eye:
Leopard Print...oh what do ya know...I was already "spotted" in this one. This is one of my favorite prints already so to see this being pushed (again)...I'm not mad. It's like a neutral if you wanna dip into mix prints but it's so fool proof how can u not indulge. Even better if you only do the leopard top with black trousers or straight jeans.
Chocolate:
For as much as I like dark browns, I've just started adding these into my wardrobe as of last year. It's less harsh n aggressive than black and I appreciate how it comes off against WOC tones. The depth it adds to an outfit is beautiful and can easily be timeless. I am ON it with this trend.
Statement Belts:
Well what do ya know...not sayin I be ahead of the game...but...here we are..again **hair flip** I have a love/hate relationship with belts becuz I don't want nothing in my mid-section to be called to attention and I don't wanna draw yall eyes on such a sight, lol. Yes, I wanna spare yall. However, every now n then, I will whip out a statement belt becuz I'm a fan of the 90's and I'm wearing enuff fabric that the bulge under it isn't emphasized lol.
Honorary Mention:
Cashmere/Wool is on my wishlist. My stepdad got me one in HS that I didn't appreciate. Now that I'm older...I want to invest in classic crewneck sweater and/or dress. It's not itchy or scratchy against the skin n this Nordies dress felt like a warm hug as it draped my bawdy. Becuz wool can get warm, I'd prefer the dress becuz I'm not a coat person n I can easily layer with a shawl if I park outside.
For shyts n giggles...a trend I will NOT partake in...are those gawd awful ballet flats which yall seem to love oh so dearly-and that's fine! I've just NEVER been a fan of looking down in my adult life to see the feet of my niece or any other kid skipping around the playground. I think it's the circle toe shape that makes me snarl becuz I'm such a pointy toe lover. Not to mention the beauty supply stores scared me for life in the 90's n early 2000's with variations of $5 ballet flats...yall know what I mean **closes eyes n looks away in disgust**
BUT...do as you will. Who am I...just merely a lover of the fashions with an opinion u can take with a grain of salt n dash of pepper! What's the Fall trends your looking forward to? Any you skipping or trying for the first time? Let me know in the comments.
