I am grateful for everyday I get the ability to open my eyes and embrace the day. It's the main drive to having the energy of being a morning person. The days move so fast, I like getting up before the average person as a way to stretch my time and enjoy a slow morning. I do NOT like being nor feeling rushed. There are days I feel draggy and I honor my body to linger so please don't think when u see me in these social streets; I'm always perky!! Get REAL!
The most beautiful sight eyes can ever see is the joys of a sunrise and the beauty in a sunset. It allows my brain to veer off and dream. It's the start of my day which gives another opportunity to conquer (or ignore) my To Do List n the end of the day to reflect on what I've completed (or continue to ignore) from my To Do List. Nonetheless, all the possibilites for your greatness lurks in between the start and ending of 24 hours.
Ok so let's get to it...
Please note: I struggled with locking down a title for this post. I toggled with anything from "strategies" "how to" and even "mastering" (thanx A.I.) however, a robot clearly doesn't know me like that-yet, lol. The truth of the matter is...I'm not a master of my days nor do I claim to be an expert. This post is mainly a diary for me to harken back to as I learn through trial n error on improving the foundation of what I'm already doing to give my days direction. If you have your own, please share becuz I'm open to stacking or incorporating new ways I can adhere to the title.

5 Tips on How I Give My Days Direction
CONSISTENCY: Yes! I'm a morning person-you do NOT have to be one! My body clock gets me up early so I naturally beat my alarm. Regardless of your wake up time-GETCHO AZZ UP with optimism and ready to take on the day. Create a Morning Routine!! There's not a day that goes by where my bed isn't made. If nothing else, that's a task completed. Getting in the habit of at least ONE thing u do to jumpstart the day will become something you'll look forward to doing once you establish a rhythm.
PLAN FOR THE DAY: I've previously mentioned a To Do List. This is a method I've been doing since after HS becuz I'm a writer n I need to SEE it on paper first to organize myself. It allows me to prioritize tasks and get a gauge on what's on the books. Even on my days of nothing (my lounge-y days) I can still set goals for the upcoming week or month. (Random Thoughts: I can't stand a man with no plan)
TIME MANAGEMENT: I've been yelling this alot to Mason lately, smh! Managing time is hard when a person has no regards for it n often times takes it for granted. I know I sound like an old man shaking his fist, lol. I've grown to be better with time since getting in the mindset of how short it can be. To be transparent-this is an area I need to work on myself becuz despite having a daily schedule-I WILL procrastinate n drag my azz on shyt I know I dread doing. Even while typing this, I know I could be continuing to declutter the closets I want to run away from. The TM I am speaking on here though is accounting for time. Stop being disrespectfully late to events n challenge urself to show up ON TIME!! I live 40 min outside of DC n I gotta add an easy +15-20 for built in traffic :7 don't get me started...but yea just be mindful of time!
POCKET OF PEACE:Since we just talked about time, this one is for YOU!! Sometimes the days can get away from you and being busy taking care of everyone else n worried bout juggling life, you'll often forget to priorize YOURSELF! The thing yall kill me with is fussing bout being the Superhero yet purposely leaving urself out the mix due to mommy guilt n the inability to say NO! Taking care of ur energy is key to being productive. Now granted, I am horrible with water, lol but it's my way of fasting so I can't harp on yall bout stayin hydrated. I will fuss at chall at our big age for NOT incorporating exercise n some kinda of movement within the day. I do Pilates once to twice a week-nothing strenuous and I carve out tine for daily walks (pending decent weather) and even at home I'll take a quick dance break for 15-30 minutes. For those with insomnia-close your eyes-I force myself to bed EARLY cuz sleeping well contributes to waking up HAPPY!
And last but not least...I've found the greatest way to maximize time and productivity is:
REMOVING DISTRACTION
I admire people who set boundaries in such a way they decide to take social media breaks n find other avenues to fulfill their time vs going down a rabbit hole of scrolling. ugh...I know-this is sooo tough. It's the reason this post hasn't dropped 2 hrs ago, lol. I get lost in scrolling n laughin at memes AND OH...don't let pop culture news come up cuz I am first class headed into the comment section which is a comedy show in itself. I like to "post n ghost"but let one topic or favorite blogger catch my attention n SQUIRREL-I'm distracted n 3 hrs snatched :(
This is an area I wanna get better at becuz I know the benefits of limiting screen time and it can actually get addicting becuz u find urself living life outside the phone in such a way that it opens the gate to being creative and refreshes the mind. I will say, during my forced time off for bereavement; I've since crafted my algorithms better to showing less trash n more valuable content filled with self-help, education, history and love.
My goal here is to incorporate more reading and not allowing my stack of magazines to get the page turn they deserve. Re-fall in love with not just creating content but actually editing and posting the expressions. Nonetheless, the less I've been on the phone, the more I tend to get done.
Let's recap on my 5 tips to maximize time and productivity so we can give our days direction shall we:
Consistency
Planning for the day
Time Management
Pockets of Peace
Removing Distractions
Thus far these tips have been helpful for me as I've started doing them within the last few years. I say that to say, you don't have to feel like an expert if u are starting from scratch. The current me has been years in the making along with shedding pieces of old me. There are things I can always get better at yet I don't allow what I've lacked hittin the mark on leave me in a rut. I'm not a robot!! Welp...the time is now almost 130p on a Sunday. I have since had my coffee, fixed dinner, done my budget and now completed a blog post :D I'm catching up on The Morning Show (Apple TV) and will do some exercise during an episode before going through emails for 30 minutes and shifting into a quiet evening as the sun goes down around 5p. My goal is to take a hot bubble bath to mediate in for 45 min n be in bed by 7p cuz I'll be in the office freshly on Monday **exhales slowly**
Thanx for coming to my Ted Tawk. Feel free to leave me your tips in the comment section as I look forward to re-evaluating my own list on a semi-quarterly basis.
